Our beautiful sanctuary was designed by Hobart Upjohn in 1917 and built by Walter Trumbull in 1918. Small in size but with wide aisles, it can seat 100 people in the pews, or more with the addition of chairs in the side aisles. The space is wheelchair accessible via a ramp leading from the rear parking lot and through the Parish Hall. Restrooms are located in the Parish Hall. A sound system provides amplification when needed.
The tracker-action organ was built in 1883 for the St. Barnabas Episcopal Mission in Troy, New York. It was later moved to a Methodist church in Kinderhook, New York, then in 1956 to a farm in Malden Bridge, New York. St. Barnabas Church, Norwich purchased the instrument in 1977 and had it rebuilt for installation in our sanctuary in 1980.
St. Barnabas Episcopal Church is a contributing building to the National Trust for Historic Preservation designation for Norwich Village.
