Milton Frye Nature Area
On June 16, 2018 Rev. Jennie Anderson dedicated the new trailhead and bridge at the back of our property. The Norwich Trails Commission reconstructed the sign at the entrance with a map of the Milton Frye Nature Area and "Rules of the Trail". The Upper Valley Trails Alliance supervised the reconstruction of the bridge and mapped out a new spur trail that will lead back to the Memorial Garden.
The Marion Cross School 6th graders in the Experiential Learning/Community Service helped carried the lumber, Brie Swenson and the MCS Root Rockers running kids worked hard on the project. Hypertherm added volunteers one day. Jonah, Daniel and Jon Felde helped clear the trail. Thanks to one and all.
The Appalachian Trail was conceived in 1923 and runs directly in front of St. Barnabas Church.
Hikers call ahead to seek lodging at our church or rectory.
